RL Clinic

Location

ZAPOPAN, JALISCO MEXICO

In the western part of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Zone, Clínica LR is located on a narrow and limited site, surrounded by pre-existing buildings. The architecture responds to these conditions with a contained and precise gesture: a compact building that concentrates its language inward, seeking light and ventilation through vertical patios that organize and give character to the project.

The main facade, oriented to the east and open to a high-traffic avenue, is conceived as an almost blind plane. This decision not only protects the building from urban noise and the intense morning light, but also creates a more serene and controlled interior environment. The reception, resolved as a glass box under the overhang of the upper levels, becomes the only nod to the exterior, giving the visitor a first impression of transparency and welcome.

The program is organized in free-standing floors supported by a perimeter box of apparent concrete, which contains the ground in the basement and supports the prestressed slabs on each level. This structural system not only provides efficiency and constructive clarity, but also allows for future flexibility: the building is designed to be adaptable to new uses over time, a structure designed to have more than one life.

Two longitudinal courtyards cross the building vertically, bringing natural light and ventilation to the consultation areas and medical spaces. These voids become fundamental elements of the interior experience, generating a comfortable and human environment in a program that is usually rigid and functional.

Clínica LR is a sober and versatile building that does more with less. A project that balances technical precision with sensitivity to the user, offering a space that will be able to transform itself and remain in time.
